What each AQA A-Level Politics paper assesses
AQA A-Level Politics (specification 7152) is assessed by three written papers of equal weight. Paper 1 covers the government and politics of the UK, Paper 2 the government and politics of the USA together with comparative politics, and Paper 3 political ideas. Each is a two-hour exam worth 77 marks and a third of the A-level, and each mixes medium-length explain questions with essays. The core ideologies of liberalism, conservatism and socialism are compulsory; a student studies one further ideology from a choice of five.
