What each AQA GCSE Combined Science Trilogy Chemistry, Higher tier paper assesses

AQA GCSE Combined Science: Trilogy (specification 8464) is worth two GCSEs and is examined by six papers, two for each science, each 1 hour 15 minutes and 70 marks. The chemistry content is sat as Chemistry Paper 1 and Chemistry Paper 2, together a third of the qualification. Chemistry Paper 2 questions can also draw on the fundamental ideas of atomic structure, bonding and quantitative chemistry. This is the Higher tier: it carries everything on the Foundation papers plus the higher-tier content, and grades 9-9 to 4-4 are available, with an allowed grade 4-3 for a student who just misses 4-4.
