What each AQA GCSE Computer Science paper assesses

AQA GCSE Computer Science (8525) is examined in two papers, each worth half the GCSE. Paper 1, Computational thinking and programming skills, is a two-hour paper on algorithms and programming, with code tracing and writing. Paper 2, Computing concepts, is 1 hour 45 minutes on everything else, from binary and Boolean logic to networks, cyber security, SQL and the ethics of technology. There are no options: every student studies all eight topics, and every one of them is here.
