What each Edexcel GCSE Business paper assesses
Pearson Edexcel GCSE Business (1BS0) is two themes, each examined in its own paper of 1 hour 45 minutes worth half the GCSE. Theme 1, Investigating small business, follows a business from the idea to the start-up: enterprise, market research, finance and the external influences on a small firm. Theme 2, Building a business, follows it as it grows, through marketing, operational, financial and human resource decisions, and either paper may draw on knowledge from the other theme. There are no options: every student studies all ten topics, and every one of them is here.
